The Molotovs sign with UK independent label Marshall Records
Still in their teens and having played over five hundred gigs, already sharing stages with the likes of Sex Pistols and The Libertines and shouted out by punk legends Green Day, the hotly tipped London-based rock band The Molotovs have signed with UK independent label Marshall Records, finalising their deal at Sixty Sixty Sounds on London’s prestigious Denmark Street. Pictured above, they announced the news to fans at their sold-out show at Dingwalls, London, alongside their family, Expectation Mgmt and the Marshall Records teams.
‘We’re excited to sign an act that embodies the spirit and essence of what Marshall stands for… live, loud and explosive,’ says Marshall Group’s Director of Music Platforms, Steve Tannett.
Comprising siblings Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, The Molotovs have been grinding on the live circuit and garnering the attention of fans and press alike for their explosive performances, with The Telegraph highlighting them as –one of the– rising stars who could share the stage with Oasis—HERE. On signing, guitarist and vocalist Mathew Cartlidge remarks, ‘When Marshall came knocking, it was a no-brainer for us to jump on board and link arms with a brand embedded in rock’n’roll history.’
‘They forged the way for some of the greats,’ adds bass player Issey Cartlidge, ‘and we are excited to become the new generation of Marshall music.’
With another year of relentless touring, DIY shows, and festival appearances under their belts in 2024, including the Isle of Wight Festival and a European tour with iDKHOW, The Molotovs are poised to hit the studio and become a true breakout act in 2025.
