The Last Dinner Party crowned “BBC Radio 1 Sound of 2024” and shares a live session with Belgian radio channel Studio Brussel
Things are moving quickly for The Last Dinner Party. Recently, they were chosen as the winners of the “Rising Star” category at the Brit Awards, and now they can claim yet another promising title. BBC Radio 1 just crowned as “Sound of 2024”.
The yearly poll predicts which artists has a promising musical future ahead of them, and gives many of them that last push towards the greater public. Acts like Florence + The Machine, HAIM, Yungblud, Celeste and Ellie Goulding won the title before. The rest is history. This year, The Last Dinner Party stands to lead the top 5. Olivia Dean is also conquering the top on spot number 2.
The victory comes about a month before the release of their debut album ‘Prelude To Ecstacy’. Singles like ‘Nothing Matters’, ‘Sinner’ and also their latest track ‘Caesar on a TV Screen’ that is available everywhere right now, are creating great expectations.
After supporting acts like Hozier, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey and First Aid Kit, the band is now looking forward to their solo shows.
Recently they also dropped by the Belgian radio channel Studio Brussel for a live session. They played stripped down versions of ‘Nothing Matters’ and ‘Sinner’, completed with a cover of ‘Army Dreamers’ by Kate Bush. The session and interview are available on YouTube.
