You don’t need to look to Germany to still find excellent wave bands. You can find them right here in Flanders. With one foot in the gothic rock of yore and the other in the dark recesses of the nineties, This Can Hurt delivered a fantastic sophomore with ‘Worlds Apart’.
Album Reviews
“Secular Flesh” is dark and beautifully mesmerizing in its mystical nature of transcendence. It is recommended for those who like atmospheric black metal with a refined touch of creativity and harmony.
“A Beacon in the Husk” is modern death metal of an eerie type. It is a complex record that requires time to assimilate its varied contents.
While I appreciate the guts it took to not stick to the formula that works for Enthroned, I don’t think this is a really good album although it certainly could be the stepping stone to an absolute classic.
Tomb Mold seems to venture into the darker sphere of morbidity and it somehow feels that the new tracks show a propensity towards the slow mid-pacing death metal style.
By one of the many lakes in Finland, Jasmin Saarela, leading lady in psychedelic supernauts Jess & the Ancient ones, has written her first solo record ‘Under the Red Light Shine’. a hauntinly beautiful record full of soul and melancholy.
Are you ready for a heroic story from Rhapsody Of Fire? Then you should check out their latest album The Eighth Mountain.
Death metal dripping with evil, that’s what you can expect from Portugal’s Okkultist!
