With the end of summer in sight, we came across 10 releases coming out in August that our editorial team has been looking forward to the most.

An AOTY list with the usual thrash, power and heavy metal suspects, but also a couple of surprises!

With 2021 being again a bit of a weird year, while looking forward to a hopefully better 2022, lets look back at some of the albums I enjoyed the most this past year.

With Gary’s selection of his favorite pictures, we dive into his 2023 in punk with The Adolescents, The Interrupters, Fea, Sloppy Seconds, The Svetlanas, The Damned, L7, Madam Bombs, Roy Ellis & The Aggrolites, The Casualties, Surfbort and Suzi Moon captured at Punk Rock Bowling, The Darts, The Soap Girls and Tokyo Honey Trap captured at some of the smalles venues in his area, and The Rumkicks and Hi-Fi Spitfires captured at Rebellion Festival!

Right in the beginning of this month, Michael Monroe, Sami Yaffa, Nasty Suicide and Karl Rockfist showed what a true rock ‘n’ roll show is when Demolition 23. took over the legendary Tavastia in Helsinki for a fully sold out show. This night was the epitome of what a rock ‘n’ roll show should be, brought to us by true legends of the Finnish rock scene!

People at the Backstage venue in Munich were eager to see The Baboon Show play the songs of their new album ‘God Bless You All’ live, and we were not disappointed! What an energetic punk and rock ‘n’ roll show was that! Support came from the equally killer Spiders, both bands you need to go see live whenever you can!

Dropkick Murphys got the Munich crowd rocking two nights in a row at a sold out Zenith Kulturhalle, in the company of singer-songwriter Jesse Ahern, fellow Celtic punks The Rumjacks and punk royalty Pennywise.

Canadian Billy Talent stopped in Munich to celebrate a night of celebration, friendship and love of neighbors, with support from the British Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls and Berlin based punk rock outfit Pabst!

Sum 41 came to set Vorst Nationaal in Belgium on fire. They brought Cassyette and Simple Plan to support them in giving everyone a great evening.

An evening of fun and enjoyment in the large and beautiful hall of the Ollympiahalle in Munich with pop punk veterans Sum 41, special guests Simple Plan and surprising discovery Cassyette as opener.

Punk rock fans were spoiled on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago when the absolute legends of hardcore punk GBH turned On The Rocks in Helsinki into a complete chaos of old school punks and new school punks dancing and partying like there’s no tomorrow. An event by Loose Mind Productions and support from Broken Trend and Likaiset Pikkarit.

YUNGBLUD at Kulttuuritalo Helsinki on his “Life on Mars Tour” was quite the rock ‘n’ roll experience. People saying that rock is dead, clearly haven’t seen this guy rockin’ the stage! With support from Boy Bleach, it was an absolutely memorable night!

HVNK PNKRCK 3.0 came, grabbed us by the nuts and threw us into the fray of several steaming moshpits with energetic punk, hardcore and rock ‘n’ roll!
