Swiss post-metal collective Fall Of Leviathan drop new single ‘Ahkab’
Swiss post-metal and post-rock collective Fall of Leviathan today drop another single from their forthcoming debut full-length album “In Waves” , which is set to be released on March 1 via Vitruve Records.
Delving into the world of Herman Melville‘s canonical Moby-Dick novel, this new track is titled “Ahkab” and has premiered at Everything Is Noise, who commented “Rounding up to eleven minutes in length, “Ahkab” is a juggernaut of a track that effectively illustrates the weight of the descent into obsessive madness and its aftermath through carefully-composed arrangements that range from pummeling to sedative, though all equally consuming.”

The band had this to say about this new track:
‘There you’ll share the sinister fate of Captain Ahab who, blinded by his madness and obsession for the Leviathan, sank to the depths of the ocean, swept away by the great white whale. Whether it is his character or the echo he leaves in these notes, he teaches us that revenge, whatever the reason, pushes us towards the eternal loss of our soul.’
Inspired by nautical themes and the abyssal, the Swiss collective plays a mixture of post-rock and post-metal elements in the vein of Mogwai and Neurosis and throughout six tracks “In Waves” showcases the band’s penchant for layering dark, heavy tones with graceful and ethereal melodies, resulting in an unpredictable journey that’s equal parts gloomy and beautiful emotive.
