Serpents Oath unveils first video and pre-orders for upcoming album

Belgian Black Metal purveyors SERPENTS OATH are back with a vengeance, and they’ve forged a formidable alliance with Odium Records for their forthcoming third album, “Revelation,” slated for release at the end of 2023. Following the success of their critically acclaimed albums, “Nihil” and “Ascension,” SERPENTS OATH has already unleashed their first video, “Blood Covenant,” a tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come.

The album pre-orders are now live and can be found at www.odiumrecords.bandcamp.com or www.odiumrex.com/webshop. “Revelation” will be available in the following formats:

• Wooden Box (Limited to 50 copies): Includes the die-hard Red marble LP, digipack CD, an exclusive box-only t-shirt design, pendant, and patch.
• Die-hard LP (Red marble, limited to 100 copies): Heavy vinyl with gatefold.
• Black LP: Heavy vinyl with gatefold.
• Digi pack CD: 6 panels with a 12-page booklet.

When asked about their choice for the first single, the band emphasized their intention to offer listeners a diverse taste of the album. They explained,

“With this first single, that is even more true, as it entails the different aspects of the album within one song. The step up in quality on this album will be clear from the first listen.”

Thematically, the song “Blood Covenant” explores ancient covenant-making rituals, where two parties would divide an animal in half, stand together in the blood, clasp their right hands, and swear a mutual oath. In some cases, each party would cut their respective hands, binding them together and allowing their blood to mingle. This union of the blood oath was never to be broken, making the participants “blood brothers” who became one flesh. Visually, SERPENTS OATH has translated this bond, present within the band, into striking and fitting images.
