MuddFest 2019 boasted a lineup that is rarely seen outside of your typically larger festivals. On September 21st, 2019 MuddFest rolled into town and made its appearance in Orange Park, Florida, featuring rock bands Tantric, Saving Abel, Trapt, Saliva, and Puddle of Mudd.
It took place at what I would consider to be a more unconventional concert venue; Thrasher-Horne Center. Thrasher-Horne Center is a college performing arts center that normally hosts comedy acts, theater productions and the occasional concert, located 20 miles outside of Metropolitan Jacksonville. It’s not the typical venue that you would normally expect to see such a stacked concert lineup as MuddFest. There was no mosh pit or lighting production, but the venue turned out to be one of the best places to host such an event. It brought the fans and the bands together for the most aspect of the evening, the music.
Tantric started the night off by playing their biggest hits that had put them on the map to begin with. Songs like; “Breakdown“, “Hey Now“, “Astrounded” and others had veteran and new fans alike fall in love with their brand of modern rock/grunge music.
Despite each band having their own unique style, they all mashed together so well in their own unique way for this not-to-miss tour. They took us from southern rock to alternative and from alternative to hard rock, all on one unforgettable night at Thrasher-Horne Center in Orange Park. As the night ended and everyone filed out of the building, the realization of the evening was: they could not have picked a better venue to have hosted the unbelievable talents that comprised MuddFest 2019 and that this would be a show that they wouldn’t soon forget.
