On november 8th of 2018 Godsmack was planned to play Trix in Antwerp. I’d anticipated this gig for months and many have with me since many of us remember them supporting Metallica at Sportpaleis in 2003. Unfortunately fate decided otherwise and they had to cancel for very understandable reasons.

A bit later Graspop Metal Meeting announced Godsmack as one of their headliners for 2019. Huray, they were coming back to Belgium! However I had mixed feelings about this. Being a Godsmack fan I was totally psyched, but also being an afficionado of small venues I was a bit bummed out. I had seen them at FortaRock (NL) before and I must say my love for seeing bands in closed and especially smaller settings still prevails.

Imagine my surprise when Sully Erna announced an extra passage through Belgium, playing at Trix to make up for the missed gig in november of last year! With Like A Storm opening for them and playing one hell of a show themselves they did all but disappoint! No wonder my colleague Annet Wolters gave them (****1/2) in her review.
