New Swiss masters of tech death Adelon unveil debut EP ‘Resurgence’

,

Formed in 2022 in the lakeside city of Lausanne in Switzerland, Adelon are a new rising force in the field of progressive, technical death metal. Having honed their skills throughout 2023 with two singles and a series of live performances alongside the likes of StortregnAnachronism and The Scalar Process, the band began work on their debut EP. Featuring four tracks of remarkable musical dexterity, accomplished song writing, a deftly balanced marriage between brutality and melodic beauty.

Beginning with ‘Fleshless Vertebrae‘, the listener is engulfed in a sensory overload of vast, otherworldly riffs that morph and slither across a thunderous rhythmic backdrop. The EP continues through an array of inventive riffing, juxtapositions of light and dark, claustrophobic confinement and breathtaking open spaces.  Reflecting on the creation of Resurgence, Adelon‘s Quentin Landoit comments,

“Working on this EP has been a wild and exciting journey for the band. Bringing these four songs to life has been a pleasure, and we can’t wait to share them with you.”

Adelon enlisted the services of sound engineer Alex Sedin, owner of Ghostalgy Prods, to bring out all the vibrant colours and dynamics within the music of this release. Alex Sedin, who has worked with the likes of AnachronismEssence Of DatumWhite Ward and many, many more, co-produced, mixed and mastered Resurgence and has since offered his thoughts on what Adelon have achieved with this EP:

“Adelon is a prime example of a young band that emerges unexpectedly and pushes the envelope for the entire genre. What these guys achieve on Resurgence is stunning. Musicianship, variety, surprise factor – it’s all there.”

Resurgence will be released on June 21st.
