Mycelia body-slam fake news with crushing new single ‘Nefarious Seeds’, new album ‘Apex’ out October 12
Swiss djent-metal prodigy Mycelia are taking on fake news and misinformation on social media with the release of their latest single “Nefarious Seeds”. This is the third single taken from their upcoming fourth full-length album Apex, which was self-produced, and mixed by Joshua Wickman (Oceans Ate Alaska, Within the Ruins, King 810). The album is set for a worldwide release on October 12, 2018 via Eclipse Records.
Mycelia have also revealed a stunning new music video for the song, which was directed by Steve Captures and Steven Zuber on location at the Balearic Islands in Mallorca, Spain.
Drummer Marc Trummer states:
“In the age of social media, our thoughts and beliefs are increasingly shaped by the media we consume. There are nefarious actors out there whose mission is to shape our thoughts and actions to align with their political & social agendas. Their influence is even stronger than we notice or care to acknowledge. The seeds of doubt, control and manipulation which they plant into the minds of unsuspecting people are often difficult to spot, and even harder to get rid of. It’s important that we think critically of anything we hear, fact-check what we can, and avoid spreading unsubstantiated rumors. We will not be their pawns!”
Mycelia’s upcoming fourth full-length album entitled Apex, features thirteen intense songs that draw upon influences ranging from hardcore, metal and djent, to jazz and classic film scores. Apex will be released on October 12, 2018 via Eclipse Records.
