Mary Was A Machine unveils new single & video ‘About You, About Me’

Italian alt-metal act MARY WAS A MACHINE have dropped brand new single “About You, About Me”, available now in all digital stores in partnership with Warmusic Management.

“After releasing Thorns, we kept shaping our sound, letting instinct and emotion guide us” explain the band  “’About You, About Me’ is another piece of this journey, a song that came to life naturally, born from shared ideas and moments of pure inspiration. But this time, we’re not alone – joining us are our brothers in music, Crosslane. This is more than just a collaboration; it’s the celebration of a bond forged on stage, growing stronger over time until it became something bigger”.

Sonically, “About You, About Me” is a journey between tension and emotional release. It kicks off with an intense, almost progressive lead that immediately grabs attention, opening into a calm yet engaging verse, backed by an electronic beat that paves the way for a melancholic, anthemic chorus:

“In the second verse, Ale from Crosslane takes the spotlight, maintaining the intimate, reflective mood before gradually building intensity and joining Hakem for a shared chorus – more powerful and emotionally charged than ever. The track then erupts into a crushing breakdown, shaking listeners to the core, before launching into a final chorus that closes the song in a surge of raw energy and emotion”.

Lyrically, the new track delves into the pain of deception and emotional manipulation – those moments when feelings are twisted to control and break someone down:

“As always, our songs stem from real experiences, but we craft them with a universal approach, allowing anyone to see themselves reflected in the lyrics and find pieces of their own story within the music. With ‘About You, About Me’, we’re adding another chapter to a story that’s unfolding one song at a time. Where will this journey take us next? We’re not ready to reveal that just yet… but one thing’s for sure: this is just the beginning”.

The track was produced by Jarno Bellasio at Theorem Studio, video director Mattia Castiglia (MATÆRIA).
