Every year the same misery… at least it’s sort of a good thing: too much great music being released the whole year through. Those people who dare to say that new music can’t offer anything good, interesting or creative anymore, just have their ears clogged up. So I underwent the difficult task of sifting though the releases I’ve listened to, reviewed, didn’t check out yet, possibly missed,… to figure out who was going to get a spot in my 10 best albums of the year 2018 and here it is!
Honorable Mentions | Top EP’s | 10 – 7 | 6 – 4 | 3 – 2 | 1 |
1. Wolfheart – Constellation of the Black Light
It was a really really difficult decision to make who would make it to my number 1 spot, because number 2 and 3 are in my eyes just as worthy to be up here. But Wolfheart managed to convince me truly. They uphold the quality of their music on Constellation of the Black Light without any doubt. They have really caught their stride and are simply soaring to new heights every day. If they aren’t already firmly positioned as one of the top metal products coming from Finland, they soon will become a staple in anyone’s collection who loves their metal brutal yet beautifully melodic and intricate with a big touch of melancholy! Just check out the 9 minute openings track Everlasting Fall! For my full review go here.
And now off toward new horizons and music in 2019! Can it get even better still?!
