KADAVAR founded new label ROBOTOR RECORDS and will re-release 'The Isolation Tapes' • GRIMM Gent

According to the motto “To make a virtue out of necessity”, the story of ROBOTOR RECORDS begins in the middle of the first wave of the corona pandemic. More than ever, founders Lupus Lindemann and Tiger Bartelt have to think about how to get their music to the people.

The year 2020 takes an unpredictable turn for the Berlin based band KADAVAR when their world tour is completely canceled after just two of almost 100 shows. Their 6th studio album “The Isolation Tapes” is created during the first lockdown. The founding members Lupus Lindemann and Tiger Bartelt decide without further ado to set up their own label and publish the album themselves. Released last October, „The Isolation Tapes” immediately hit the German album charts at number 16.

“Somehow the idea of our own label had been going through our heads for a long time and now the time was just ideal. We had a new album, we were without a label and we had time. We are very happy to be able to realize our visions and to share the experiences of the last 10 years with other artists and to communicate more closely with the fans. ”- Lupus Lindemann

A little surprised by the prompt success of the operation, the two musicians use the time in the second lockdown to focus on building the company. In the future, ROBOTOR RECORDS do not only want to want to accommodate KADAVAR as a band, but also offer other bands and artists a platform and a global network.

As obvious as the similarity of ROBOTOR and KADAVAR may be, the meaning could hardly be more different. The band has since devoted themselves to authentic hand-made music, isn’t that ironic? At least, as the slogan says, ROBOTOR RECORDS bring you MUSIC FOR HUMANS.

In any case, we believe that music cannot be heard by machines and that alone is a comforting thought. I think music is very sustainable, it’s good for us humans. With reinforcement in the team and ROUGH TRADE DISTRIBUTION as a global sales partner, the next round is now starting: April 9th, 2021 the worldwide re-release of “Kadavar – The Isolation Tapes” as a Premium Edition. The edition also contains the live show “Studio Live Session Vol.I” as a bonus and comes in the formats LP + CD, 2-CD-Box and 3-LP-BOX. Advance sales for all three formats have already started.
