With the release of their impressive first full-length album ‘Moving Backwards’ (read our review here), things have been going fast for Wheel. Touring through Europe extensively with Soen, playing at some of the major prog fests that the continent knows, opening at the very last show ever of Children of Bodom,… This is a band heavily inspired by Tool, but with their own distinct sound and a big promise for the future. So at the end of the year, we caught up with James (lead vocals/guitar), Aki (bass) and Santeri (drums) just before they opened the “Best tour ever pt. 1” stop in Helsinki.
We had a short chat about how crazy and eventful 2019 has been for them and how much they expected their success and the praise for their album. They told me what they now actually thought of the new Tool album that they’ve been waiting on for so long and what some of their personal highlights were of their journey. And of course, “Keep It Wheel”…
