That Finland is a country riddled with quality bands and talented musicians, is a well-known fact within the metal community. It’s none too surprising that on regular occasions, you see new groups pop up that consist out of musicians from several other successful bands. One such group is the melodic metal outfit Smackbound that is getting ready to release their debut album ’20/20′ on June 12th via Frontiers Music. With a line-up of Netta Laurenne on vocals who has been contributing to the Finnish music scene for quite a while, drummer Rolf Pilve (Stratovarius, Wintersun), guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun), keyboardist Vili Itäpelto (Tracedawn) and bassist Tuomas Yli–Jaskari (Tracedawn, music producer at Sonic Pump Studios) it’s a pretty much stacked line-up. We were all too eager to have a chat with Neta about the upcoming album and more…
In the second part of our interview, Netta talks some more about what her personal inspirations are in music like for instance Dio and Pain of Salvation among many others, who she’d love to work with as a guest on a Smackbound song (or not), what you can expect from a Smackbound live show and how she experiences combining her career in music and her other career. Stick around until the end, because Netta sends out an important message to all of you about what she hopes and wishes…
