Interview Rimbacher – “I wanted to sound like my heroes, but still with my own spin on it”

Besides of course many great metal bands, Finland also has a rich history of phenomenal rock music. Hanoi Rocks almost became one of the big names among their fellow glam/sleaze rock bands and there is a constant stream of new bands that love the classic sound from the 80s, some adding a modern touch, some just staying true to the heydays of glam and stadium rock. Rimbacher is one such band that loves to hang out with the classics, and they were releasing their debut album ‘High Hopes On The Rocks’, so a great time to catch up with the guys for a bit of a chat.

We sat down with Nico (vocals) and Reisca (bass, backing vocals), and had a lovely conversation about their band and music. They started this version of the band, Rimbacher, back in 2020 and have been working on this debut album ever since, tinkering away on it bit by bit since the finances and time didn’t allow them to work on it faster. But now they have a really solid and good line-up with very healthy band dynamics, and they feel that the extra time they took actually benefited the music they ended up recording. They wanted to do things properly, taking the time to focus on everything and make sure that the first album sounded just right and fully like them. Not reinventing the wheel, but making the kind of rock music they all love, and do it really well.  The heydays of that 80s rock sound is ingrained in them, making it hard to pick up a guitar and not play some riffs in that direction. And now that they have their first album properly together, they’re really looking forward to bringing their music live. Because they’re more of a live band than anything else, so hopefully they book a bunch of shows in the nearby future!
