GRIMM: What’s next for Napalm Death?
It all depends on the gigging situation. There are definitely possibilities at this point. We have some Italian shows in November. As it stands right now those show could happen. But you’ll probably know that there’s been like an upsurge in virus infections in Northern European countries, some Southern as well. So restrictions may come back into place. Realistically they might not happen. We’re dealing with it as it comes, keeping our eye on it. But as soon as we can be back, we will be back.
But there’s always something to do, apart from waiting for gigs and speaking to journalists. I’m definitely not just sitting in the couch watching TV all day. I do like a bit of that, don’t get me wrong. But variety is the spice of life.
GRIMM: Anything you’d like to say to our readers? A quick closing message or statement?
Yeah, one always tends to say the same things at this kind of question *laughs*. But you know, Napalm Death has now been around for forty years and it wouldn’t have been possible without the people’s consistent support. I mean, let’s face it, mate, we’re not a fucking easy-to-listen-to band, and for people to continuously be attracted to Napalm Death is simply amazing. There’s people I literally met thirty years ago that still come to see us. And not just one or two. Hats off to them, really. What can I say, except express my very significant gratitude.
GRIMM: And thank you, Barney, for taking the time to chat with me.
No worries, mate. Cheers.
