Ieper Hardcore Fest announce first names for 2019
Christmas may be over but it seems I’m still opening presents. Ieper Hardcore Fest just announced the first names for their next edition. This Summer the hardcore/punk/grindcore festival will make the Ypres grounds unsafe for the 27th time.
The first names include Madball (NYC hardcore – US), Bitter End (hardcore – US), Wisdom in Chains (hardcore – US), Gouge Away (post-hardcore- US), Harm’s Way (hardcore – US), Leiah (SE – emo rock), Ninebar (London hardcore – UK), Guilt Trip (hardcore – UK), Just Ice (hardcore – CA), Optimist (hardcore/death metal – DE).
To my immense pleasure Ieperfest included xSECTx (sxe hardcore – US/CA), a personal favourite of mine.
As always Ieperfest shows their undying respect for the Belgian scene. That’s why they have included Brussels metalcore legends Length of Time, the local In Clover (beatdown) and Redemption Denied (hardcore). Worshippers of the Church of Ra will also be pleased to find that Wiegedood (black metal) are playing as well, and that Amenra are most likely announced as a festival headliner.
Ieper Hardcore Fest will take place on July 5-6-7, 2019, and that’s a first. It used to take place in August but the organisation has decided to set the date earlier so we wouldn’t have to wait too long for this highly anticipated party. Or rather it may have something to do with too many festivals taking place in the same weekend.
Tickets aren’t available yet, but you can start by checking out all the aforementioned bands and support their music in any way you can. And you should be looking forward to Ieperfest’s legendary afterparties, which are a reason for going in itself. If you already want to support the festival, go donate to their crowdfunding here!
Stay tuned for future updates!
