Ghost, Ministry and Overkill at Dynamo Metal Fest 2018!
Dynamo Metal Fest, the festival in Eindhoven, the Netherlands is announcing three new names for 2018’s edition. On July 14th 2018, heavy metal band Ghost, industrial metal band Ministry and thrash metal band Overkill play at the festival besides the already earlier confirmed Sons of Apollo, Annihilator, Leprous, I Am Morbid and Havok. Tickets for the metal festival are now available in sales through Ticketmaster.
The Swedish metal band Ghost plays as headliner at Dynamo Metal Fest 2018. The group arises in 2008 and exists out of frontman Papa Emeritus and the “Nameless Ghouls”, like the other members call themselves. The debut album Opus Eponymous (2010) was nominated for a Grammy in the category ‘Best Hard Rock’ album. The following albums Infestissumam (2013) and Meliora (2015) were received really well too. The band members of Ghost mimic the Roman Catholic Church, but have turned the statue upside down to worship Satan instead of the holy trinity. Just recently the band announced on stage the ‘departure’ of singer Papa Emeritus III and baptized the new Papa Emeritus Zero, who will be the one to lead the heavy metal mass from now on.
The American industrial metal band Ministry gets founded in 1981 by Al Jourgensen and is known as one of the godfathers of the industrial metal/rock genre. In the beginning of the 90’s the band breaks through with the album Psalm 69, and especially with the track “Jesus Built My Hotrod”. Throughout the years the band changes the line-up quite a lot and Ministry had a difficult period after the passing away of guitarist Mike Scaccia. Founder Jourgensen goes for a break on several occasions, but always returns to the music. In 2018 the band is releasing a new record named AMERIKKKANT of which the first new number “Antifa” has been released already.
Also the American thrash metal band Overkill is confirmed for Dynamo Metal Fest 2018. The music of Overkill guarantees a good moshpit. The five musicians, of which Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth and D.D. Verni who have been in Overkill since the beginning, make the crowd go completely wild with their fast riffs and hard drums, and definitely with their latest record The Grinding Wheel (2017), read our review here.
The following bands are confirmed for the metal festival at the moment: Ghost, Ministry, Sons Of Apollo, Overkill, Annihilator, Leprous, I Am Morbid and Havok. One more band will be added to the line-up still: the opener of the festival.
