Finnish post-metal collective Besra reveal music video for new track ‘Prison Without Locks’
Finnish post-metal collective BESRA have recently revealed a music video for a brand new track titled “Prison Without Locks”, which is taken from the band’s forthcoming second full-length album “Transitions” due out on September 29th via Suicide Records.
Directed by Atte Heinonen, the video for “Prison Without Locks” has premiered at Invisible Oranges, who had this to say about BESRA “Finnish post-metal group Besra are bleeding hearts in a genre of crushing tones. Their focus lies in their lyrics and vocals, pushing the expected distortion to the background and taking their time with delicate build-ups.”
The says the following about this new track
“Listening to a mix of Aaron Turner’s old production and experimenting with new guitar effects led to the creation of the main melodies. I find it sometimes interesting to let the effects guide and see where it takes you. In the studio, we combined this very austere and ascetic second part conceived by our other guitarist Johannes into the song, and finally, we brought the melodies together. Hannes’ dark-toned vocal arrangements and the stunning video crown the entirety as one of my favorite songs from the album. Embracing contrasts like this is Besra at its best.”
Recorded at Rødhouse Studio and mixed and mastered by Cult Of Luna‘s Magnus Lindberg, the follow-up to their critically acclaimed first studio album “Anhedonia” is the result of a long and arduous writing and recording process and sees BESRA circling through a vast spectrum of emotions and sonic textures encompassing elements of post-rock, post-metal and ambient. Pre-orders are now available here.
