Finnish metal outfit Stråle released new single ‘Close Is Not Enough’
Founded in 2009 in Helsinki, Finland, Stråle has been a consistent and focus driven band since the beginning. In the later years the band have geared up and are ready to meet the European audience. The debut album “Bourbon Souls” (FDA Records, 2020) was mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios and it gave the band great reviews from all over Europe and also a deal with the German booking agency Redlionmusic.
The music has since the beginning been melody driven alternative Metal with the bittersweet taste of Finnish melancholy.
The second single of the upcoming new album brings in a whole new flavor of STRÅLE. The first single “The Heart You Tore Apart” has been streamed over 10K times with 4k listeners on Spotify without the help of curated playlists. Still Stråle has a lot more to offer to the domestic audience. Close is not enough is the first song where the new vocalist Daniel Jakobsson (Royalen, Superdiesel) really takes charge of the melodies and gives it his trademark of unleashed emotions and harmonies.
“When I was 19, a suicide in my school really shook things up for everybody, why are we here? What’s the point of life? Those questions became reality and I remember one night, driving a car with my brand new drivers license, filled with freedom and the future ahead. But all I could think of was driving home to safety, to my parents, where everything had been safe” Daniel explains.
The song tries to capture the feeling of desperation that follows when life takes a turn that you didn’t expect. The powerful melodies and the pulsating rhythm of the song underlines the hopelessness that you can feel when life doesn’t follow your plans.
The song as well as the upcoming full length album is recorded by Teemu Aalto (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum) and vocals are recorded by Jani Autero. Album is mixed & mastered by Grammy award nominated producer Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Arch Enemy, Volbeat, Katatonia). The album will be released this year by FDA Records.
Stråle is currently planning to tour in Finland before their European tour with Orphaned Land that will happen at the end of this year (28.11 – 15.12.2024). The “Motocultor Across Europe Tour 2024” will consist of fifteen gigs in eight countries.
