Dutch psychedelic black metal band Cthuluminati unveils first single ‘Abysmal Quatrain’
“Abysmal Quatrain” delves deep into the protagonist’s moral struggle. As he mourns the loss of his father and younger brother, he finds himself standing at the edge of an unthinkable sacrifice—one that will grant him immense power but comes at a terrifying cost. Torn between grief and ambition, he must decide whether to surrender to the abyss or fight against the forces pulling him under.
This song is an exploration of distorted realities, blending black metal, doom, sludge, and prog into an entirely new sonic form. The band approached this track as a sonic experiment, breaking away from conventional band production to create an immersive and unsettling atmosphere. Blending progressive black metal, crushing doom, and psychedelic textures, ‘Abysmal Quatrain’ is a sonic rollercoaster. Fans of Oranssi Pazuzu, Cult of Luna, and Schammasch will recognize the hypnotic atmosphere and intricate layers woven throughout the composition. The track shifts between ethereal soundscapes and sheer intensity, embodying the very essence of ‘Tentacula’.
The accompanying lyric video, crafted by Drain Hope, brings the track’s eerie and otherworldly essence to life. Known for his mind-bending psychedelic visuals, he has created a dreamlike world that perfectly reflects the song’s haunting intensity.
“Abysmal Quatrain” is the first single from ‘Tentacula’, set for release on March 13 as a digipack CD and on all streaming platforms. The second single, “Squid Pro Quo”, follows on February 27.
