Dutch blackgaze act Noctambulist unveils new single ‘Lichteter’

Dutch blackgaze band Noctambulist have unveiled the next single from their upcoming second full-length album “Noctambulist II: De Droom” set for release on 7 February 2025 via These Hands Melt.

The new single “Lichteter” is available to stream via all streaming platforms: https://lnk.to/noctambulist

Lyrically the song explores the desire for a stable albeit mediocre future only to discover the present has fallen apart in the meantime“, said the band. “It is emblematic of the themes found on much of the songs throughout the album. It falls in a comfortable transition between the harsher tones found on Elegieën and the experimental nature of De Droom.”

Last month the band released the single “Aderlater”.

The new album “Noctambulist II: De Droom” will be released on 7 February 2025 in CD, vinyl and digital formats. Recorded in Tilburg between February and April 2023 at Catacomben Studios, De Droom sees Noctambulist diving deeper into post-punk and shoegaze influences while retaining the fierceness of their debut record Elegiëen.

Noctambulist are an atmospheric post-black metal outfit from Tilburg, the Netherlands. Formed in 2015 between housemates J.D. Kaye, Sam C.A. and Mitchell Scheerder, they set out to create a hard-hitting, melancholic style of black metal that draws inspiration from other genres such as post-rock, shoegaze, new wave and post-punk.

Noctambulist stand for contrasts. Serotonin summits and strung-out canyons. The empty and the grandiose. The beautiful and the appalling.

After defining their sound and completing the lineup with guitarists Tristan Tabbers and Stef Heesakkers they released their full-length debut “Noctambulist I: Elegieën” via Northern Silence Productions. Their second album will be released through These Hands Melt, with pre-order details and more information to be revealed soon.

Noctambulist are
J.D. Kaye – Vocals & Guitar
Stef Heesakkers – Guitar
Tristan Tabbers – Guitar
Sam C.A. – Bass
Mitchell Scheerder – Drums
