Chris Maragoth released new single & video ‘Bury My Remains’

Chris Maragoth released his new single ‘Bury My Remains‘ about a month ago on June 14, 2024. The song starts off with a low guitar sound that’s given strums that ring out. A lead guitar follows with a melody. A whispering voice enters the song as well, later turning into clean, clear vocals. The guitars keep steady while the vocals change into growls. This melodic metal / melodic death metal song tells, once again, a deep story. I’ll let the artist explain:

”The lyrics explore the questioning of established ideals and belief systems. Throughout the narrative, the song’s protagonist comes to understand that these constructs are subject to change, which elicits a destabilizing mix of anger, fear, and pain. What remains is the understanding that the self-imposed constraints of past ideals no longer seem coherent and therefore can no longer be sustained”.

While the song fades out with a long, low strum, the lead guitar wakes you up out of a trance with a repeating melody.

The song is a collaboration with Per Lümbersson (lyrics, main guttural vocals) and Erik Schuetz (backing guttural vocals) of the German Melodic Death Metal band Aeon of Awareness.
