Belgian rawk ‘n’ roll outfit Fat Bastard reveals second single ‘Kill my Soul’

,

Belgian raw rock ‘n’ roll band Fat Bastard announces the release of their most personal and impactful single to date, “Kill my Soul”. This powerful track delves into the deeply personal experiences of one of the band members.

“Kill my Soul” stands out not only for its raw and emotional lyrics but also for its mission to bring attention to a critical issue that affects countless children worldwide. The song’s lyrics are a poignant reflection of the childhood experiences of one of the Bastards, making it a deeply personal and heartfelt creation.

In stark contrast to their previously released upbeat, mariachi-filled song “Never Told me her Name”, “Kill my Soul” embraces a raw and darker feel, capturing the intense emotions and gravity of its subject matter. Additionally, the song features a few musically wrong or misplaced elements, intentionally left off-center to further enhance the dark atmosphere of the raw sides of our so-called picture-perfect society.

According to official records, there were over 10,000 reported cases of child abuse in Belgium alone. However, the band believes that this number is just the tip of the iceberg, as many more cases go unreported and unnoticed. Through their music and advocacy, Fat Bastard aims to give a voice to the voiceless and inspire change.

For the release of “Kill my Soul,” Fat Bastard has also produced a lyrics video that incorporates vital information on child abuse and how to recognize and respond to it. The band hopes that this initiative will help raise awareness and encourage more people to be vigilant for sign of this pervasive issue.

This album is produced, mixed and mastered by Ira Black. You’ll know Ira from bands like Bulletboys, Vio-Lence, Dio Disciples, Lizzy Borden, Dokken,… Although the album was recorded in late 2023, we didn’t mind waiting until 2025 to release it upon the masses.

As 2025 celebrates 50 Years of Motörhead, we knew we wanted to wait as their song Mr. Rock is a tribute to the life of LemmyWe are the (over)Killers is a song that resonates with the Motörhead discography and Tiger Queen is a love poem like they feel Lemmy would have written it.

For fans of old school Raw Rock n’ Roll music like Motörhead, Peter Pan Speedrock, … Fat Bastard‘s music is defined by its relentless energy, commanding vocals, and electrifying guitar riffs. Their sound seamlessly blends the raw power of rock ‘n’ roll, the rebellious spirit of punk, and the intensity of heavy metal. Drawing inspiration from old school rock legends, Fat Bastard crafts a dynamic and versatile musical style that resonates with a wide range of listeners.

Stay tuned for more news on the release of the upcoming album ‘Barely Dressed’, planned for a release on April 25, 2025.
