Aleksi Paasonen (Vocals) about the song:
“Strangers In Crime” is one of those tracks where everything just seemed to fall into place during the writing process. The main riffs and chord progressions that Terho (guitar) laid down early on were so powerful that they essentially set the mood for the rest of the song, including the lyrics.
Lyrically, the song explores a relationship in which two people have mentally drifted apart, losing their connection. The idea of using the classic phrase “partners in crime” took an interesting twist when we changed “partners” to “strangers,” adding a unique touch to the lyrics and the song’s title, something I’m really proud of.
After the first vocal demo, the idea of a featured vocalist began to feel essential. Luckily, Melissa Bruschi of Hand Of Juno was able to fit the vocal recording sessions into her tight schedule, despite being on tour. Her vocals truly elevated the song, adding depth and intensity to the story. We’re incredibly grateful that she agreed to be a part of it.
Balance Breach, a standout force in the Finnish metalcore scene, has proven their determination to make a mark on the global stage. Following their second album, ABYZMAL (2023), the band is set to release their highly anticipated third studio album “Save Our Souls” on March 7, 2025, through label Out Of Line Music.
