Alt-rock act VOWWS sign to Out Of Line Music and release new single ‘Blood’s on fire’
Rising Australian duo VOWWS have been drawing attention and stirring a quiet, confident buzz in their chosen home of Los Angeles in the lead-up to their highly anticipated new album – which has not gone unnoticed by some conspicuous peers in the artist community.
VOWWS already count the likes of Deftones, Korn, A Perfect Circle, Gary Numan and Billy Corgan amongst their fans owing to their singular blend of industrial electronica and alternative rock. Singer-keyboardist Rizz and singer-guitarist Matt James have elevated their sound and artistic vision, creating an adventurous, unique work set to make a mark in alternative music in 2025.

Featuring co-production by Billy Howerdel (A Perfect Circle) and drums by Josh Freese (Foo Fighters, A Perfect Circle), new single Blood’s On Fire sees VOWWS at their apex – a self-assured statement track that is as powerful as it is immediate. The duo purposefully took time over the last two years to hone in on the perfect collection of demos for their new album, before enlisting Howerdel to help record and re-imagine each song – reflecting their commitment to honouring the artform of creation, in defiance of a music industry that prioritises quantity over quality. This approach has also seen them become involved in the highest echelons of the fashion world, delivering compositions, collaborations and performances to Commes Des Garçons, Alyx, Givenchy and Byredo.
In describing the writing process for Blood’s On Fire, VOWWS said:
‘It’s the last song we wrote for the album, and the one that made the most sense as the fi rst single. By the time we got to making this record, we had been working on a lot of different songs over such a long period, we were full of all this pent-up energy. It’s about an intense need to lose yourself in something, or someone, whatever, good or bad. Anything to get out of stagnation – we missed the feeling of being overstimulated, overwhelmed.’
Following on from previous tours and live outings supporting System Of A Down, The Cult, Deftones, Viagra Boys and ††† (Crosses), VOWWS have already announced a number of European festival dates for 2025, with additional dates due to be announced.
