London power-punk risers Alien Chicks share gripping new effort ‘Curtains Up’ (video here), out via Hideous Mink Records (Opus KinkFake TurinsBlack Bordello) & SO Recordings (Enter ShikariDeadletterBig Special).

Marking the third and final reveal from upcoming debut EP ‘Indulging The Mobs’ (pre-order here), set for release July 18th, ‘Curtains Up’ follows biting lead single ‘Steve Buscemi’ and frenetic follow-up ‘Qwerty’, with their surreal social commentary drawing substantial acclaim throughout the tastemaker community ahead of a busy summer festival run.

With a UK tour support ticked off alongside indie heavyweights English Teacher late last year, the thriving trio have developed a staunch grassroots following in recent times, with multiple sold-out London headliners and dates supporting Lambrini GirlsFat DogOpus Kink and Warmduscher

With support filtering across the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Arielle Free, Amy Lamé), BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves, as well as key indie press champions including The Independent, DIY, Dork, CMU and Rough Trade, Alien Chicks‘ relentless momentum certainly continues to gather pace ahead of next month’s debut EP release.

Speaking ahead of their newest release, frontman Joe explained:

“‘Curtains Up’ is recurring periodic anxiety. I’ve suffered badly from health anxiety and ‘Curtains Up’ was a representation of how I’ve felt before. It also discusses how long adulting is generally and how that affects how anxiety manifests itself. Basically it’s a few minutes of moaning”.
