Finland’s melodic black metal act Moonlight Sorcery emerged out of nowhere in 2022 with their debut EP release 'Piercing Through the Frozen Eternity'. The trio Loitsumestari Taikakallo (lead guitar, bass), Haaska (rhythm guitar) and Ruttomieli (vocals) have garnered inspiration outside the black metal genre, focusing on shimmering melodies and technicality that somehow evoke the melodic death metal. It didn’t take long for the Finnish trio to release their second output aptly named 'Nightwind: The Conqueror From The Stars' released via Avantgarde music on January 13th, 2023.

Muse has been and always will be a bit part of my musical journey. Back when 'New Born' was unleashed upon the world, it blew my mind at a time I was still very much discovering myself musically. And while their more recent albums haven’t been maybe as impressive for me personally, they’ve always done things their way and delivered successful album after successful album not shunning away from crazy concepts and projects that usually aren’t the easiest to sell to a mainstream crowd. But when they shared the first singles of this new album, I couldn’t help but feel a very similar kind of excitement as I had when I just discovered them. Anticipation was big and I could hardly wait to dive into 'Will of the People'.

Since the inception of the Danish death metal trio Deiquisitor in 2013 the band bordered on the old school brutality. And their fourth album “Apotheosis” out via Extremely Rotten Productions and Night Shroud Records on January 20th, 2023 proves the sheer cold brutality in its most hideous form. In its savage intensity and uncompromising quality the new album conveys nine tracks showing a remarkable combination of subversive drumming assault and churning guitars.

German atmospheric black metal duo Imperium Dekadenz is set to release its new album “Into Sorrow Evermore” on January 20th via Napalm Records. Once again Vespasian (guitars, bass, drums, and keyboards), and Horaz (guitars, keyboards, vocals) lift the veil from the shadowy realm of darkness. The follow-up album to the 2019 “When We Are Forgotten” weaves the contrasting elements where the melancholy echoes from the depth of the cold forest.

This album will be the successor to 'City Burials' which made it to the charts in 2020 (e.g., #6 rank in the Germany). Founded in 1991, KATATONIA continually have been living through different genres and their evolutions – developing their own particular form of expression. Their delicate, melodic and melancholic music is a specific style that has become their trademark. Their new album is the consequent further evolution of the loved gloomy, often depressive and dark atmospheric sounds.

Satanic Warmaster is one of the prominent names in the Finnish black metal scene, founded in 1998 by the multi-instrumentalist Werwolf (Grieve, True Werwolf, Vargrav, Orlok, and ex-Horna). Eight years after the last album “Fimbulwinter” which was released in 2014, the band returns with the sixth album “Aamongandr” released via Werewolf Records on December 30th, 2022. Although a lot has changed in the band’s direction over the past years, Satanic Warmaster demonstrates the raw aesthetics of Finnish black metal aggression. The new album includes Werwolf (guitars, vocals), and several guest session musicians such as Necroterror (bass), Nattravn (guitars), Grond (drums, percussion), and, Trollhorn (keyboards).
