It is some of the most bludgeoning exercises that sweep with a fetid air where Chris Reifert (drums, vocals), Danny Coralles (guitar), Eric Cutler (guitar, vocals), and Greg Wilkinson (bass) set up a raw and dank style of primitive death metal as they managed to bring out a completely different beast in the underground canonical genre. One of the standout aspects of “Ashes, Organs, Blood and Crypts” is the savagery frenzy trademark of Chris Reifert‘s wicked barks, and the galloping performance of the guitars that seep in pungent stench of death. The opening track “Rabid Funeral” captures the classic over-the-top gore elements of the band from the flawless grinding drums rampaging through the dismembering riffs of Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler injecting tons of infectious heaviness.

Taking you down to the hellish pits of hell with tracks like “Thraotsaw”, there’s something for you to sink your teeth in with terrifying growls and the rotten riffs and bass guitar of Greg Wilkinson that meshes with the bone-crushing drums. The rapid pace is plenty on the album, but there are moments when the slower pace brings the technical solos and the stomping chug adding a sense of grisly dark atmosphere. The emphasis goes on blistering brutality and groove on “No Mortal Left Alive” where Autopsy pulls the strings with some otherworldly slow doom metal sections to create an atmosphere that fits with the classic sound.

The obsession with gnarly slow riffs is rather utilized as the astounding guitar work on “Well of Entrails” see Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler channeling the doomy riffs of Black Sabbath is brilliantly crafted by thick groovy riffs and the drumming that has a crushing effect. “Ashes, Organs, Blood and Crypts” doesn’t necessarily re-invent the trademark of the band, but the sleek and varied guitar work stands out for the lofty technical ability. The rhythm section is damned hooky for the slowly thrilling arrangements, every guitar line keeps the ghoulish atmosphere reeked of tormented screams and the slow infectious riffs that make you shudder from the unspeakable horrors.

“Bones To The Wolves” is packed with filthy underground riffs that ooze from an ancient phlegmatic crypt, Autopsy musical context is firmly built on the core of old-school death metal. While the element of doom metal lurks in the mid-paced sections, there is a flawless momentum and precision to the drumming work. The dynamics and the songwriting may be the same as the previous album, but Autopsy has managed to craft something twisted and rotten. The album’s title track “Ashes, Organs, Blood and Crypts” showcases the grotesque side of the maniacal drumming. The musical context focused on a merciless bludgeoning followed by a heavy wall of sound that hits a slow stoner doom style of riffing.

When the shifting from the full throttle rapid death metal, these blistering tempos oscillate back and forth between the fast bludgeoning sections on tracks like “Marrow Fiend” hooking you into the unhinged madness and the twisted solos. There is a variety of unique guitar work in the ninth album and there are plenty of songs that somewhat combine old-school punk, thrashing death metal, and heavy metal. Autopsy has forged a tight cohesion and complex rhythms that are showcased in “Toxic Death Fuk” and “Lobotomizing Gods”. We can expect to hear some frenetic growls, and solid refreshing guitar work sounding just as repugnant, Autopsy measures the speed and technicality with some crazed melodies and raw-filled death metal riffs.

The thrashing death metal assault explodes into frenetic chaos as the versatile formula is utilized in “Death Is The Answer”. The ramping drums and the distorted riffing render relentless brutality, but the guitars shift to slow doom adding a horrific twist to atmosphere, there is no surprise that these moments are filled with excellent guitar solos. The closer “Coagulation” is a top-notch piece of old-school mid-tempo before the bass guitar adds a subtle layer to the engaging riff and the wicked sinister growls of Chris Reifert submerge with the bloody murky riffs that sounds evil and crushing.
