The opening track “All Heads Are Gonna Roll” kicks off in a motion of breakneck speed, violent groovy riffs, and relentless brutality spewing gore obscenities with the stomping drums. The spectacular displays of monstrous riffs in the new album will rock you to your core, where the guitar department boosting extreme barbarity against the rapid drum paces of the thrilling action make this a stunning work of performance. While the lyrics are infused with a sense of gore focusing on horror film flicks, the veterans continue the carnage emphasizing tons of blistering riffs and fueling a nonstop spree of mayhem with such sonic brutality inflicting berserk and hellish pandemonium.

The riffing on the album follows the classic modus operandi of combining heavy sledgehammer riffs that perfectly build up into chugging through the blast beats with the bone-breaking drums adding violence to the explosive tempos in the following track “Decrowned”. The trademark guttural growls of Erik Rundqvist seem to spread like a fiendish triumph manifesting the barbarity of death metal, as in the past albums Vomitory’s modern approach has always been as sleek style in both precision and brutality. However, Tobias Gustafsson and Co. have sought to reinvent the sonic formula by wielding catchy guitar hooks without sacrificing the classic sound of the band.

Vomitory needed a bit more mechanism and consistency robustness therefore, tracks like “Ode to the Meat Saw” hint at the classic Swedish D-beat style, courtesy of the stomping riffs and grinding drums aiming to highlight the imposing quality of the songwriting. “All Heads Are Gonna Roll” shows the insistent aspect of the guitar riffs and the scorching solos that will appeal on so many levels. Lethal and chainsaw-like riffs ripping through the flesh with a buzzing bass guitar turning your stomach upside down, summing up with focus blast beats, the opening riff on “The Deepest Tomb” putting the sonic force into a grisly thrilling motion.

The tracks on the album are marked by a recognizable signature style. The hallmarks of the modern brutality on “Piece by Stinking Piece” is overly abrasive, bolstered by the massive riffage, and the drums serving as a backbone with the high velocity of pounding beats and the bass guitar creating a turbulent effect. On the next track “Raped, Strangled, Sodomized, Dead” the subtle, technical guitar are spontaneously catchy. Gigantic riffs are backed up with the impulsive snare drum attacks and nasty D-beat, and blast beats shifting on rapid-fire tempos, regardless of the bludgeoning barbarity Vomitory aptly provides enough variety within the duration of forty minutes.

“Dead Man Stalking” is a totally classic Vomitory track that begins with a crushing double bass tempo, gory blood-drenched guttural growls, and kick-ass action trademarks that long has been rooted in brutal mid-tempo aggression. Guitarists Urban Gustafsson and Peter Östlund swagger their stomping jackhammering riff technique. Vomitory doesn’t seem to miss its organic flair on the last three tracks, moreover, the catchiness of the chugging riffs has a rather filthy and sordid tone.

On “Disciples of the Damned” and “Dead World” the veterans deliver ultra-fast uncompromising and honed barbaric perfection while the lead guitars work in conjunction with the blistering drums the pacing is noteworthy for its catchiness. The strength of the songs blends sheer heaviness, focused intensity, contrasts, and ferocity. While the other track is full of savage growls, the rampage continues in an even more fast-paced tempo before the drums settle down to double bass kicks and the guitars seamlessly improvise an upbeat tempo combining elements of old school that is reminiscent of Bolt Thrower.

The creepy intro in the final track “Beg for Death” builds on a slow creepy tempo as the track unfolds, Vomitory ensures to take the fans on a relentless ride with the grooving guitar section kicking into some merciless chugging. Sly riffing twists moved by the crushing drums that demonstrate how the band can play at slower tempos somehow give a sinister and even morbid death metal experience, ensuring smooth coherence that defines the quality of these songs.
