Doro – Forever Warriors, Forever United

/ / By :

Welcome to Doro’s 20th album, this time a double album, called Forever Warriors, Forever United. A classic Doro album with double the amount of songs to rock out to.

The style of music is the same as the other stuff she has done before. It has a typical heavy metal sound with some ballads in between. For the people that were at Wacken this year, you basically know Forever Warriors already. The main riff of the first song of this album, All For Metal, was played in a commercial between almost every concert. She also played this song live during her performance. Talk about one heavily promoted song.

Forever Warriors got some more love than Forever United, as the songs on the former just seem so familiar, as if I had already heard them before. On top of that, I was able to sing along after listening to it only once. This album contains more catchy, powerful songs. Forever United seems less familiar, but the feeling that the songs are the same is still there. Whether that’s a good or a bad thing, is up for discussion. For me, it’s rather on the negative side. I like to hear something new, something that thrills me. On the other hand, it can be nice to have the same, trusty feeling with the songs that you are used to. Forever United also has more ballads and calmer songs on it.

The album’s name is appropriate: Forever Warriors contains more powerful and energetic songs, whereas Forever United is more on the sensitive side.
Overall, Doro is Doro and will always be Doro. She’s a fighter, she puts herself on top and will not get knocked off. Whether you like it or not, she will always be present in the heavy metal scene, and she will always be producing songs that will get stuck in your head forever. So, overall, well done Doro. You are still your good old self. Even though, in my opinion, some change once in a while would not be a bad thing.

In short: simple, but catchy.
