Tuska adds synthwave, black metal and nu-metal to their 2018 line-up!
Tuska Open Air has been around for 20 years now as one of the biggest metal festivals in Finland. We’ve been lucky enough to be able to attend to this great event a few times now (for our report of this year’s edition go here) and you can always be sure of a strong line-up in which there’s a ratio of 50-50 foreign and domestic names, both big and small. This year the festival takes place again at Suvilahti in Helsinki, during the weekend of 29.6 – 1.7.2018. After earlier this month revealing the last headliner, they’re back with quite the diverse offer of music styles:
The French synthwave phenomenon Carpenter Brut will be making the crowds move on Tuska Saturday. Carpenter Brut’s debut album ”Leather Teeth” is a brilliant synth-time-travel to the depths of the 80’s.
Also added to the line up are Feastem, who alongside Rotten Sound are one of Finland’s best known grind-exports. Other new additions include legendary Finnish black metallers Gloomy Grim, newer wave of black metal squad Black Royal, violent-pop act Blind Channel and Helsinki-based nu-metal outfit Six Inch.
Sadly for now it seems like the Finnish hard rockers of Santa Cruz have been removed from the line-up after the rumored break-up…
