Long-standing Swedish rock band Thundermother released their new album ‘Dirty & Divine’ recently, and kicked off an extensive tour to celebrate and bring the release to their fans all over Europe! The first leg of the tour brought them to Im Wizemann in Stuttgart, Germany for a night of great rockin’ out. The ladies of Thundermother gathered some of the best of the feminine side of the heavy metal and hard rock scene with Cobra Spell and Vulvarine for support, and we saw it was good!

Vulvarine

The night kicked off with VULVARINE, the Vienna based 5-piece band that brought a refreshing old-school metal vibe to the stage. Lead singer Suzi Q, with her striking resemblance to DORO, commanded the audience with remarkable strong vocals and energetic appearance. Their grooving sound, which brings up some memories of Iron Maiden, was solid. New guitar player Cora Lee fits in perfectly. The five ladies from Austria bring a classic rock’n roll attitude to every stage.

Cobra Spell

Next up was COBRA SPELL, a band that did not hold back on the guitar firepower. Lead guitarist Sonia, formerly of BURNING WITCHES, excites with delicate solos and high-energy performance. The band’s visual appeal is a little unusual, with high-cut bodysuits, leather harnesses and other erotic details adding to the visual spectacle. Vocalist Kristina high-pitched screaming and an at all times dynamic, moving stage presence of all band members kept the audience fascinated throughout their full set. It has been an impactful performance, showcasing a blend of visual theatre with musical power. Last but not least, COBRA SPELL had the only male band member in their line-up, in an otherwise fully female artist band listing.

Thundermother

The headliners, THUNDERMOTHER, took the stage with a confident display of their new material from the ‘Dirty & Divine’ album. The new song material is the first that is written and performed for the current line up.  Linnea‘s powerful voice and commanding stage presence led the way.  Joan‘s heavy, driving drumming and bassist Majsan provided a solid foundation for the band’s energetic performance. Always to mention: the great guitar skills and performance of band founder Filippa. The set was a well mixed blend of new tracks and THUNDERMOTHER classics, every fan loves. It’s showcasing the band evolution, but never leaving the roots of strong, solid hard rock. The band’s chemistry and stage presence were the peak of a night of exceptional live music.

If you haven’t seen this on the first leg of the tour, make sure to take your chances on the second leg of the tour, starting on 21 March 2025. Hurry up because it might sell out faster than you think.
