Bristol power trio MOULD announced second EP ‘Almost Feels Like A Purpose’, set for release April 24th, and shared new track ‘SNAILS’ (video here) out via 5dB Records.

Recorded in summer last year at Bristol’s Humm Studios, ‘Almost Feels Like Purpose’ bristles with pent-up frustration and showcases frontman Joe Sherrin’s sardonic reflections in full flow. Marking the follow-up to riotous autumn lead single ‘CHUNKS’‘SNAILS’ sees Sherrin take inspiration from his big lyrical heroes Dave Berman and Nick Cave, with the songwriter personifying his dissatisfaction into the helpless character of a baby, conjuring an image of “feeding my malaise by the spoon”.

With sustained support throughout the press community (NME, DIY, Dork, So Young, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Rolling Stone UK, Rough Trade, Brooklyn Vegan), as well as repeated spins across the BBC 6 Music (Huw Stephens, Amy Lamé) and Radio X (John Kennedy) airwaves, MOULD have already kicked off 2025 in style with acclaimed London and Bristol headline shows, ahead of a mammoth live plot being readied for their second EP’s arrival.

Speaking ahead of its release, Joe Sherrin explained:

“‘SNAILS’ was written whilst working a mind numbing temp receptionist job. I worked there for a week. My job was to press a button to let people in the door if they forgot their pass. They all had passes. Kane came up with the melody whilst we were messing around with a chord sequence at practice, I then wrote the words to fit it.”

MOULD’s ‘SNAILS’ is out now via 5dB Records and available on all digital platforms.
