Hong Kong native and one-women powerhouse XTIE (pronounced X-T) released her new heartfelt dance single, Crying on the Plane.”

This news comes just after she made waves with her wildly popular track Lost in Between, featuring Finnish artist Anniina. Within just one week of its release, the music video surpassed 100,000 views on YouTube, and it has entered the first round of GRAMMY voting in the category of “Best Dance Pop Recording.”

Out of the 176 entries competing for this year’s Best Dance Pop Recording category, XTIE stands out not only for her exceptional talent but also for her dedication to this project. “Lost in Between” is a cross-regional collaboration between Asia and Northern Europe, featuring Finnish artist Anniina, with XTIE taking charge of writing and producing the song alongside an all-female creative team.

Her entry has established a new benchmark for Asian artists, shining a spotlight on the immense creative potential and rich diversity of musicians from Asia to the rest of the world. By blending innovative sounds with cultural influences, she is pushing boundaries and paving the way for a new generation of artists to share their unique stories and perspectives.

Sharing her excitement, XTIE said,

Thrilled! We are qualified for the GRAMMY® first round voting! It’s an honor to be listed among amazing artists like Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, and Madison Beer etc. in the Best Dance Pop Recording category!”

As an electronic genre-blending artist, her follow-up release out now, “Crying on the Plane,” promises to build on this momentum as it experiments with liquid drum and bass and incorporates her signature pop elements. What started as a musical experiment quickly gained traction when she casually shared a snippet on Instagram, which received an overwhelming response.

I didn’t plan to make it a full song. I was just having fun making a liquid drum and bass track with my own touch and posted it on Instagram. It blew up, and many new listeners commented that I should turn it into a full song,” XTIE explained.

The song is inspired from a long-distance relationship that was doomed from the start. It isn’t just another travel-themed song — it features real aircraft sound samples that XTIE recorded during her recent tour, perfectly capturing the emotions of traveling and missing loved ones abroad.

Both of her latest tracks showcase XTIE’s magnetic appeal and potential beyond traditional Asian pop music and K-Pop. Stay up to date on all things XTIE at www.xtieofficial.com
