We start off with the same title track, ‘Hollywood Suicide’. Synths start the song, they build up, and then they go full power. Powerful, smashing beats make you headbang. The chorus is calmer, but the verses are screamed, loud and heavy.
‘S3X ‘ starts off much slower and calmer. There’s a beat added at the pre-chorus. Then the chorus goes loud with power chords. The vocals keep a calm pace for this dark song about pain, dragging pain.

“Can you feel me inside the unknown?”

‘FSU’ has amazing action right from the start. Fast drums, low strumming guitars and Sushi‘s iconic scream and clean vocals make this song rock hard. A rage song, perfectly explained by the well known quote that’s also found in the lyrics:

‘Heavy Rain’ has a heavy background, both lyrically and musically. The heavy lyrics are spoken very softly, they land like raindrops on your head. The music is the cold, hard ground where the rain lands on and splatters everywhere. This song feels more melodic than the previous ones, but still has that dark theme attached to it. ‘Valerie’ starts with just a beat. A dark voice almost whispers the lyrics. A song that sounds like you are in a trance. It gives you chills just listening to it. Through the song there’s some breathing, which enhances the feeling of being watched, an eerie feeling.

“Soulmates in hell, the universe is gonna be Valerie.”

‘Black Cloud’ seems to hold back at the start, but once the intro is over, the song is loud and clear. The theme stays dark on this one. The hard world of Hollywood: people trying to live their dream, but actually living their nightmare with all the emotional destruction that’s going on.
‘Ugly’ goes low and hard. People are ugly, most people want you to be like other people, but that shouldn’t stop you from being yourself. The chorus is very melodic. The song plays with different beats and paces.

‘Blood’ gets thrown at you, and you have to be ready to catch it. If you’re not, this song will attack and devour you. ‘Murder feat. Inhuman’ creeps up on you. It has scream parts that are loud, but it also has just synth parts that keep the dark feeling. It even has a glitching sound in it, which makes that feeling even worse, in a good way.

‘Dahlia’ enters with a low and steady riff, followed by a steady beat and a synth sound. The pre-chorus is filled with scream vocals, while the chorus is very melodic. All on top of a bed of steady, low tuned guitars. Last song ‘Helena Drive’ has a dreamy sounding intro; calm and backed up by a synth. The song stays calm and dreamy, but adds the low strumming guitars to it.

‘Hollywood Suicide’ is exactly what the title says. The album is dark and talks about depression, heartbreak, wanting to get out of the depression and take action, but not being able to. Hollywood and fame don’t always have the scent of roses, and this album makes that loud and clear. GHØSTKID brings metalcore with melodic parts in it as well. Get ready for a lot of scream vocals and low tuned, heavy guitars.
